Jordan's Book "We the Poisoned" Arrives...and Other Good News!
Jordan received his author copies in the mail AND other good news
Hey folks, it’s Jordan.
A picture’s worth a thousands words…see above.
When I opened the box this afternoon and saw copies of my own book, the feelings that flooded me were hard to describe. Pride, excitement, and in many ways disbelief. To be frank, I was not entirely sure I’d ever get the full truth about the Flint water cover up out to the world…much less find a publisher and get a full-length book published…much less with the legendary Erin Brockovich writing the foreword.
It really is a pinch-myself moment. The countdown is officially on;“We the Poisoned: Exposing the Flint Water Crisis Cover Up and the Poisoning of 100,000 Americans” will be released in bookstores in a little over a month on August 6th. You can pre-order now.
In addition to receiving copies of the book, I got some other good news today; for the many people who’ve asked, the book WILL HAVE an audio version. Once I get more details on that, I’ll be happy to share.
So far, we’ve received two book reviews:
Axios writes: “Investigative journalist Jordan Chariton includes stunning details of a last-minute attempt by the city's water plant manager to avert what turned into a lead poisoning disaster.”
Publishers Weekly writes:
An impassioned debut expose…Chariton’s narrative is powered by indignation as he chronicles the catastrophe’s legacy (including increased cancer rates) and jaw-dropping government malfeasance (“The corruption was so shameless, I thought I had misheard,” he writes of learning about the attempted payoffs). It’s a vital report on a horrific scandal. (Aug.)
And for those in the New York City/tri-state area, I’m excited to announce I’ll be doing a book event on August 8th at The Strand bookstore in NYC…in which I’ll be interviewed by the great Susan Sarandon!
More news to come soon...

That’s awesome news Jordan. Eight years of reporting finally coming out.
Outstanding accomplishment!
