East Palestine Resident Moo Blake BLASTS Norfolk Southern PENNY PINCHERS: Cleaning the Wrong Way, Screwing Us

Louis DeAngelis is back in East Palestine Ohio THIS WEEK. Yesterday he spoke with East Palestine resident Moo Blake, who Louis spoke to during Status Coup’s first ON-THE-GROUND trip to the area. Moo explained then that she was told to shelter in place for two days before being told by an official that she would have to leave or “leave in a body bag.” Moo has continued to have consistent health issues including bronchitis from what doctors initially diagnosed as chemical exposure.

“[Norfolk Southern] started relocating us again a couple of days ago because they ended up covering up the contaminated dirt and water, and all of that, thinking they were going to get away with it, and they didn’t.

So now they are relocating us again while they dig up the tracks, dig up the gravel and actually take up the roadway, which they should have done since day one.”

“They should have tested our air, our water, and everything, and made sure it was safe to come back. Not just make us come back and make everyone believe everything was okay, because it wasn’t. That’s the only reason we are fighting.”

Moo said that people are getting sicker many community members are getting mixed messages from officials, sparking confusion about arbitrary zones for assistance. She mentioned that Governor DeWine came and spoke to school children without parents knowing he was coming to the community. Moo also voiced concerns about rainwater, dam breaks, and other issues that are still ringing alarm bells for residents.

Moo also mentions that River Vally Organizing will be providing free water and soil testing for residents.
