Striking UAW Workers CELEBRATE Announcement of Expanded Strike
"Hell yea! Taking all their parts plants down!...shut em down!" striking UAW workers at Ford's plant in Wayne Michigan chanted after announcement of 38 new plants going on strike.
Hey folks, it’s Jordan.
Yesterday, Status Coup’s Tina-Desiree Berg kicked ass, interviewing workers as they listened to the announcement by UAW President Shawn Fain of 38 additional GM and Stellantis plants going on strike. She then did two livestreams from one of the new plants on strike—Stellantis in Center Line Michigan.
"Hell yea! Taking all their parts plants down!...shut em down!” workers chanted in celebration after the announcement. She will also be live within the next hour from another plant on strike.

Between Tina and I, Status Coup has been ON-THE-GROUND all 9 days. The week ahead is busy with Green Party presidential candidate Cornel West, President Biden, and former president Trump all expected in town to speak with workers. I am currently trying to figure out a way to get back out on the ground this week, but to be completely honest, costs for this trip are already nearing $5K between Tina, Jon, I and flights, daily hotels, rent-a-car, food, etc. We would love to stay out ON-THE-GROUND to cover the entire strike, but financially, we can’t afford it without significant growth. Can you sign up today as a Status Coup member for $5-10 bucks a month?
Already a member but want to help fund this specific reporting trip? We appreciate all donations, big and small donations for this trip—which I believe is one of the most important stories for the working class in recent years.
As was the case when I reported over the first 5 days, dozens of UAW workers have approached Tina and I thanking us for our strike coverage and telling us Status Coup is THE OUTLET workers trust and watch on this strike.
This all is thanks to you, the viewers and, particularly, the paid monthly members and viewers who’ve donated to help fund this trip.
Thanks again and for all that you do. If you can’t financially support us, I understand…keep liking, sharing, and commenting on our videos and livestreams!
