I hope you all stay safe. I lost my courage when two very close friends, both veterans, threatened to, "shoot me first." Another friend married to a former boyfriend whom I had never had anything but friendly interactions even after we broke up, told me to, "keep my head down."
I was writing that I wanted Med4all. I am fully disabled and I fear my kids might not be able to get an education if my medical condition worsens... and it probably will. These friends all knew me very well and we had stayed in each other's homes. They all knew my health history. But, shoot me?
One hinted at the upcoming war. That was last October. I left Facebook, but my mother tells me it's much worse than a year ago. I lost scores of friends over my support of Biden. It's crazy.
I know you guys go into all sorts of situations all around the country. Please, take as many precautions as possible. The Proud Boys are angry, but I worry about loners more.
I don't think that any of my former friends is involved in any group or a similar action, but I don't know if that has changed since last October. I'd like to think that they'd know better. But, since last November, here in suburban SE Ohio, it's a tinder box.
I know you won't quit. But, take as many precautions as possible. I would contemplate a protective device. I know you aren't running on a big budget, but some safety equipment would be a good idea. At the least, consider a burner phone. If they take one phone, you might still be able to call for help.
